A gastroenterologist is a physician who specializes in disorders and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Most gastroenterologists are board certified in the sub-specialty. After completing the same training as all other physicians, gastroenterologists study for an additional two years to train specifically in conditions of the gastrointestinal tract. Our training includes the traditional and modern technical skills of evaluating digestive and liver diseases, as well as gastrointestinal endoscopy. We treat diseases that effect the esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, biliary system, pancreas, small and large intestines, and the rectum.    Each of the physicians within Carolina Mountain Gastroenterology, P.A. is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine.
